Three Additional Lies The Devil Would Have YOU Bel

Three Additional Lies the Devil Would Have YOU Believe

4.  There are many ways to Heaven. The devil wants you to believe that you can worship God in any way you want to as long as you do it from the heart. He might say worship at the church of your choice because all churches are the same? Don’t sweat the details because there are many roads that lead to heaven.

Many have believed this  and that is why we have so many division in the religious world. There are over 2000 different denominations who worship God in many different ways. This is the complete opposite of what the Word of God teaches. Look at:

1 Corinthians 1:10-13:  “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.  For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you.  Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ."  Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?”

In the first century Paul was making it very clear that there is not to be division or calling yourself after some man. Jesus purchased the church with His own blood and His church should bear His name. God demands unity based upon His word and has never approved of man made doctrines.

Jesus made it very clear that there only 2 roads a person can follow:

Matthew 7:13-14:  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” The only way to enter into that narrow Gate is through Jesus Christ.

John 14:6:  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”

So you see, there is only one road that leads to heaven, and we can only travel that road if we obey God’s Word and worship Him in spirit and in truth. The devil wants you to think that you don’t have to pay close attention to God’s Word

In 1 and 2 Timothy and you will see Paul pleading with Timothy over and over again to make sure that the church is built upon sound doctrine and for him to watch out for those who are trying to change the word of God.  So don’t ever buy into the devil’s lie that there are many ways into heaven

5. There will not be a Judgment Day. He might say for you to think about Jesus because He said He would come back, but it has been almost 2000 years since His death. What do you think he is waiting for? He is not coming back so there will be no Judgment Day.  There nothing to fear; just live your life anyway you choose. This was being spread in the first century as well.

2 Peter 3:3-4:   Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”  Peter responds to this lie in 2 Peter 3:5-10:

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

James tells us to be patient   James 5:7-8:   Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.”

We can be certain that there will be a Judgment Day, but it will be when God decides for that day to come.

Acts 17:30-31: "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”

All the devil’s lies cannot change the reality of a Judgment Day.

6.You have plenty of time to obey God

The devil had a meeting in hell on how to deceive the people. One demon said, let us tell them that the Bible is not true. The devil replied, “That will work but only to a point.” A second demon said, “Let us tell them that Jesus is not Lord.” The devil replied, “That will only work to a certain point as well.” An older demon suggested, “Let us say that the Bible is the Word of God and Jesus is the Lord, but let us convince the people that they have all the time in the world to obey Him.” The devil loved this idea!

Acts 24:25:  And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.”

2 Corinthians 6:2  " …behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
