Honestly I dont have a definite answer but here are some thoughts.

If you were a thief before you became a Christian your sins are forgiven. After you become a Christian you still can not continue in stealing because it is a sin. It was a sin before you became a Christian and its a sin after. So if this is true, Would it apply to Marriage?? The sin of stealing was wrong before coming to Christ and it is wrong after. Does this same logic apply to marriage?
