GOD'S BLESSINGS ARE IN CHRIST

God's Blessings Are In Christ

The Bible teaches that God blesses us "with all spiritual blessings in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3). In Christ we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace" (Ephesians 1:7). In Christ we are born again becoming a new creation. "If any man be in Christ he is a new creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17, cf. John 3:3-5).

Not only does the Bible teach us that God's blessings are in Christ, but also how we get in Christ. "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ" (Galatians 3:27). "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?" (Romans 6:3).

Before one can be baptized into Christ one must believe (Mark 16:16; Romans 10:17), repent of sins (Acts 2:38), and confess Jesus as Christ (Romans 10:9-10). Then, when one is baptized into Christ, God blesses one with forgiveness of sins, righteousness (right standing) before God, and the hope of heaven (Romans 6:17-18).

There is no forgiveness of sins and no hope of heaven for one not in Christ. Christ is the savior of those who obey him (Hebrews 5:9). He loves you and me and invites us to come to him (Matthew 11:28).
