It is interesting to trace the evolution of homosexualism in the mores or attitudes toward sex in general and homosexualism in particular. Someone has said (or at least, should have said), history, for most of us, began when we were born. Looking at American values in the lifetime of our older generation may, or may not, reflect yours. However, let us take a look at the so-called great generation, those that grew up before World War II and often fought therin. They grew up in the depression after the stock market crash in October as well as the crash of the "flapper" culture of the 1920's. They respected the Christian views of their fellow citizens and understood that "we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad" (2 Cor 5:10). Being a "Christian" nation and accepting the fact that "he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Heb 11:6).

With this background faith in the Bible as the revealed word of God (2 Tim 3:16), it was commonly stated, "There are no atheists (i.e. those that deny that God exists) in a foxhole." With the common Christian condemnation of homosexuality, as well as bestiality, was heard about but rarely encountered. In the military of that day, homosexuality was detested and vehemently opposed. The closet door of homosexuality was not only closed but also locked!

In the atheistic effort to shift Western Civilization and American morality to an amoral civilization where there is no truth, no right or wrong; they have accepted the ancient curse of God, "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto councel is wise" (Prov 12:15). Hollywood and TV have done their best to make homosexualism acceptable. The "Odd Couple" series was subtle. One was masculine and messy while the other was fussy and engaged in house-wife chores. "Barny Miller," on the other hand, got more laughs by making fun of the overt homosexual, but made it seem a rather harmless-mission accomplished.

Today if one rejects or condemns homosexualism he is a homophobe. The bottom line is the fact that homsexualism is a sin in God's sight (Romans 1:26-27).  Note, the NIV translation of 1 Cor 6:9-12, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers or male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." Christians and Bible believers must not endorse it (Romans 1:32).
