Who Cares?

Who Cares?

An old Negro spiritual lament, "no body knows the trouble I've seen."  Even King David cried, "no man cared for my soul."  (Psalm 142:4).  Have you ever felt this way?  Do you wonder sometimes if anyone really cares?  In fact, there are those who are very much concerned about you.

Christians care.  Christians follow the Bible which tells us "to do good unto all men"  (Galatians 6:10).  Christ expects Christians to love our fellowman with an eye to being a good neighbor (Matthew 22:32-39; Luke 10:29-37).  What a lofty goal for us all in a day when loneliness is such a problem for many!

God's ministers care.   The evangelist Timothy cared (Philippians 2:20).  The apostle Paul was a caring preacher of tender sympathies (1 Thessalonians 2:7,8).

But most of all, God cares.   With unbounded love he sent his Son, Jesus, to die for you (John 3:16; Romans 5:8).  The apostle Peter tells us, "He careth for you" (1 Peter 5:7).

Perhaps the real question is not  "who cares?" but rather "do you care?"  "...God is no respecter of persons.  But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him"  (Acts 10:34;35).
