One of our Bible teachers once pointed out a profound principle. "God gave the wonderful gift of sex to mankind. He then put a fence around it. That fence is marriage." Sex outside the bounds of marriage is sin.

God expressed it this way, in the words of Paul, "to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband" (1 Corinthians 7:2). The Hebrew writer put it this way, "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whore-mongers and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4).

The primary function of sex is procreation. Homosexual couples cannot fulfill this function. God made them Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve. God expressed his will in the matter in Genesis 1:27-28: "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

If we are to be a God-fearing nation, we must understand and respect God's inherent laws on marriage. God has spoken, but will we listen?
