DOUBLE STANDARDS

In our present "politically correct" world, there are a number of inconsistent views that are irreconcilable.  As the wise man said,  "the legs of the lame are not equal" (Proverbs 26:7).

Consider three inconsistencies in our present world:
    (1) Say abortion is OK - however, if a pregnant woman is murdered the perpetrator is guilty of a double murder.  Where is the protest from the "woman's choice" fringe?
   (2) Say abortion is not OK - the doctor that performs the abortion is obviously guilty of murder - but what about the one that hires the hit man? Somehow, this injustice seems to escape the condemnation heaped upon the doctor that does the deed.
   (3) Then there are those that contend the woman alone determines whether to have the baby or not. However, if she elects to have the child, the father (who thus far has no say) is obligated to support the offspring until grown.  Truly the legs of the lame are not equal.

In our study of abortion and the Scriptures, we understand the word "abortion" is not found in the standard study Bible (The King James Version of 1611).  However, God's Word does give us principles to guide our beliefs in this area.  In regard to these principles gleaned from the Old Testament, remember the words of Paul, "whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." (Romans 15:4). Let the Bible Speak!

"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."

The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
