FORWARD - DEFILING AMERICA IN THE TWENTY-FIRST CEN

Defile means to make dirty, spoil, or pollute.  Americans understand that those that burn or trample on our flag have in fact defiled our great nation.  In a moral sense those that trample on our Christian values have also defiled this great nation.  Those conscientious citizens of this Christian nation recognize the homosexualism, same sex marriage, abortion, divorce, drug addiction,  pornography, and promiscuous sex are indeed defiling our beloved nation.

Those willing to let God speak through His book the Bible need to know how seriously our Creator considers the defilement of  His people.  In revealing His will to His people Israel, God declared the following in Leviticus 18:20-30,  "20 Moreover [1] thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.  21 And [2] thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, [3] neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.  22 [4] Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.  23 [5] Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.  24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:  25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.  26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:  27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)  28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.  29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.  30 Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the Lord your God."

It not difficult to see that the God of the Bible considers [1] adultery, [2] sacrificing offspring (abortion?), [3] profanity, [4] homosexualism, and [5] bestiality (sexual intercourse between a person and an animal - acceptance just around the corner) as abominations or objects of disgust and hatred.   God also points out that the pagans of that day had defiled themselves with these repulsive actions and was the reason God cast them out of the land and gave it to Israel.  These abominations are so abhorrent that even Mother Nature can not stand them.  As stated in verse 25 above, "the land itself vomiteth our her inhabitants."  These presently accepted unnatural actions, are repulsive to both God and nature and can and do defile America.

If we expect God to bless us as in our beloved hymn,  "God Bless America," we must change our actions and attitudes toward sin and return to God's ways as revealed in the Book of Books.
