Outreach Philosophy on Worship

In the gospel of John (John 4:19-24), the woman at the well asked Jesus about the right place to worship.  He responded with this statement: that, from that time forward it was no longer about a place; but that, instead, "the time is coming and now is that the true worshipers will worship in spirit and truth."

The truth part of that statement is about being sincere and honest in our worship to God--from the heart and according to his divine plan; the spirit part is made clear in Romans 12:1 where the Apostle Paul wrote, "in view of God's mercy, offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship."  Paul used the rest of the chapter to explain how we are to live our lives daily in such a way that God is glorified by the way we live.

Our view of worship is that it happens twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by how we live our lives--not just on Sunday morning at "church."

As far as "church" goes, we have no official programs or committees:  we just come together and worship and fellowship together in love.  We sing happy birthday to anyone and everyone.  We hear any announcements that are on people's hearts--even if it is from a six year old boy who wants to tell us about his deer hunt.  Personal achievements are recognized and applauded.  We sing, pray, read from the word, partake of the Lord's Supper and listen as our preacher breaks unto us the bread of life.  In the end, we always close the service with a word and a prayer from one of our shepherd's.  We are blessed each week.

Won't you come join us and be blessed.
