Last year at this time I wrote an article on witchcraft, which stated that it was a quest for power

and control. I would like to point out here that Christianity in comparison is a quest of obedience and service. I noted then the various scripture condemning witchcraft. 

In this article I will address witchcraft as paganism. Pagans are those who worship a god or gods other than, or in addition to, the God who is revealed in the Bible. A close examination of modern witchcraft reveals that witches and wizards engage in the worship of gods and spirits such as Gaia, or mother earth, among many other entities. This very thing that witchcraft engages in is condemned by Paul in Romans 1:18-25. 

Those who engage in this practice are guilty of three things. First, they are suppressing the truth. In Romans 1:18 Paul stated, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;” They are failing to give God His due and they pervert His message. In Romans 1:25 Paul declares, "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” Second, they ignore His word. In Romans 1:19-21 Paul tells us that God manifests the truth to us and the invisible things are clearly seen and understood by the things that are made. In this they have chosen to ignore God the Creator. Third, their ignoring God has led them in "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,” Romans 1:22. The results are they have changed the glory of God into images and the truth of God into a lie: worshipping the created instead of the Creator. In doing this, the god of this world has blinded their minds (2 Corinthians 4:4). 

Paul points out in 1 Corinthians 10:20, "But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.” We as Christians cannot approve and/or support those who engage in such practices. For if we condemn sin in others, and do the same, we are inexcusable (Romans 2:1).
