C. M. Campbell vs Mormons
November 1, 1934

(By Leslie L. Spears)

This informal debate lasted one hour. The apostasy of the church and restoration of the gospel were discussed. The Mormons called themselves "elders". Bro. Campbell asked on of them to read Titus 1:5-7. They admitted that they were unmarried. Asked to continue the debate, they said they must be in Celina the next morning. Bro. Campbell offered to drive them there in his car if they would continue the debate. They said they could not debate without permission from headquarters in Louisville. Bro. Campbell said it was the first he had heard of the Lord having headquarters at Louisville. They walked to Celina in preference to debating and riding with Bro. Campbell.
