L. W. Hayhurst vs C. B. Head (classes, women teachers)
June 8, 1950
Denison, Texas

(By Otta Johnson)

L. W. Hayhurst met C. B. Head of Brookhaven, Miss. in Denison, Texas, May 16-18. There were no demonstrations from the audiences - very orderly debate.

Bro. Hayhurst is well able to meet the anti class group. He was master of the situation at all times. C. B. Head is a good speaker, but he is very tricky. Often his tricks are a little on the shady side. He had to be called down for gross misquotations of bro. Hayhurst's previous speeches.

J. D. Whitten was present. Bro. Head became visibly disturbed every time bro. Whitten smiled and slowly shook his head. Several of the anti-class members knew Whitten when he was one of them. They still love him and respect him.
