C. R. Nichol vs A. S. Bradley (Materialist)
May 24, 1906
Rule, Texas

(By Unknown)

April 20-22 at Rule, Tex.

Bro. Nichol affirmed: "The Bible teaches that the kingdom of God, or of Christ, was established on the first day of Pentecost after the resurrection of Christ." His affirmation lasted for 6 hours. Mr. Bradley affirmed: "The Bible teaches that man is wholly mortal, and therefore unconscious from death to the resurrection."

To say that bro. Nichol completely defeated Mr. Bradley and thoroughly sustained his contention, but mildly expresses it. He is quick, thorough, logical, and profound. He was splendidly prepared for this battle and did his work satisfactorily. It is our positive belief that bro. Nichol has contributed some very rich, valuable matter to our literature in this debate.

"We, ministers of the gospel, desire to express our unqualified indorsement of bro. Nichol's work and our perfect satisfaction with the results thereof." A. B. Barrett, J. C. White, David Draper, D. S. Ligon, Ike P. Scarborough, D. E. Coffman, W. G. Cypert, Daniel Nelson, Price Billingsleg, W. E. Morgan and J. P. Nall.
