Gus Nichols vs O. G. Lodge (Holiness)

Some few weeks ago I was invited by the Bessemer church to come to Birmingham and debate 4 nights with O.G. Lodge, a so-called Holiness, who challenged us for a debate. Mr. Lodge was weak in argument and easily exposed before the audience. The attendance was good and the crowds were orderly. The debate was conducted in the Church of God meeting house. All the preachers in the Birmingham area who were not engaged in meetings attended the debate, Flavil Nichols, Tuscumbia, Ala. Moderated for me. Some brethren came a hundred miles or more. Yet we had only a few days to announce the discussion. All seemed highly pleased.
