Hugh Price vs J. W. Walker (Adventist)
February 7, 1929
Selma, Alabama

(By J. H. Hines)

This debate was conducted between bro. Hugh Price and J.W. Walker in Selma, Ala. in the hall of the Civic Club. The debate ran 5 nights.

Five propositions were discussed all pertaining to the Sabbath and the first day of the week. Mr. Walker, a Seventh-Day Adventist, affirmed that the Sabbath is binding on Christians today. Bro. Price affirmed that the first day of the week is the day for worship and partaking of the Lord/'s supper.

The debate was on a high plane. The attendance was excellent. Many people of denominations came each session. Mr. Walker is an average debater. He understands Adventist teaching, but does not know how to rightly divide the word. Bro. Price labored hard to get the truth before the people. With him, it is truth first, last and always. I moderated for bro. Price.
