What About the Antichrist?

   What About the Antichrist?

"Antichrist" is a "spirit" (attitude, disposition) that is against Christ.  It has existed since New Testament times.  "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it shall come; and even now already is in the world" (1 John 4:3).  "...[A]nd as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrist..." (1 John 2:18).

The antichrist denied the truth about Christ. "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son" (1 John 2:22).   Antichrist do not speak the truth about Christ.  "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.  This is a deceiver and an antichrist" (2 John 7).

These are the only times the word "antichrist(s)" appears in the Bible.  Some hold "The Antichrist" is a man now living who will emerge as the leader of the world after what some call "The Rapture" and rule during "The Seven Year Tribulation" until he is overthrown at "The Battle of Armageddon" before "The Thousand Year Reign of Christ."  This is "Premillennialism" and the Bible does not teach it.

The Bible does teach that Jesus is coming again to raise the dead and judge us all.  No one knows when.  He will take the saved to heaven and leave the lost to hell.   Are you ready for the coming and the judgment of the Lord?.
