Judgment
The apostle Paul declared, in the great sermon he preached on Mars Hill in the city of Athens, "God has appointed a day in which he will judge the world (Acts 17:31). Jesus said that all the nations will be there (Matthew 25:32). The apostle Paul wrote, "We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:10). The judgment comes after death (Hebrews 9:27). "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." You will be present and you will be judged by Christ's word (John 12:48).
At the judgment a great separation will take place. Jesus said that on that day he would separate all as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats (Matthew 25:32). Those on the right will hear him say, "come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you" (vs 34). But to those on the left he will say, "Depart from me...into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" (vs 41).
Are you ready for the judgment?! Where will you stand on that day? Will you stand on the right? Or, will you stand on the left? If you died this very day or if Jesus returned this very day would you be prepared? "Prepare to meet thy God" (Amos 4:12).
Your eternal soul is at stake. Your life on this earth is for only a very little while in view of eternity. "Lay hold on eternal life" (1 Timothy 6:12). Jesus said, your soul is worth more than all the world (Matthew 16:26). It will be too late to make any changes when that archangel shouts and that trumpet sounds (1 Thessalonians 4:15).
