"Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you." (Deut32:7 ESV)


Remember & Do Not Forget...

How you were delivered (Dt4.9 / Dt7.18)

The Goodness of your Great God (Dt8.14 & 18)

The lessons of your sinful rebellion (Dt9.7)


You Were Slaves!

But are now God's people (Dt5.15 / 6.21)

Liberate your servants on 7th year (Dt15.15 / Dt16.12)

Care / provide for the poor (Dt24.18 / v22)


Dangers of Forgetting

Heart Stray & children lapse back into sin (Dt4.9)

Fail to keep His rules -- SO forget Yahweh (Dt8.11)

Idolatry! & so lose covenant blessings (Dt8.19&20)


Why We Forget

Failure to rehearse the Facts (Dt8.11)

Distracted by things - 'blessings' become 'curse' (Dt8.12,13)

We are weak of mind, frail in faith (Dt8.15-17)


How to Remember

Read the Revelation -- learn rules to fear Him (Dt6.1-3)

Retell the Story: teach, talk, write (Dt6.4-9)

Practice the Rituals: DO -- to fear, live, be right (Dt6.24-25)

Love of Suffering Savior: Weekly Memorial (1Cor11.23-26 / 2Tim2.8)

Our Part in the Gospel Story: Sinners called to be Saints (Eph2.11-13)

His Exceeding Great Promises -- and grow thereby (2Pet1.3&4)
