The Laws of Nature
There are several laws of nature that apply to our
lives and to science. These laws are important because they explain how things
work and what will not work.
These laws were written by God, though some will disagree with that statement.
God wrote the laws so they will agree with the word of God. God is the author of both. It is not a disagreement between the bible and science but between scientists and preachers. There is no reason to run from God's word.
Job 38:33 "Do you know the ordinances of the
heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth?" (ESV)
God set these laws to govern nature and they can
not be broken. Think about it: Try to suspend or break the law of gravity!
There are four laws we want to cover.
1. The law of rationality. One should only draw
those conclusions that are warranted by the evidence.
2. The first law of thermodynamics. Energy can
be neither created nor destroyed, but can only be converted from one for to
another.
3. The second law of thermodynamics. In any
change the universe becomes a slight more disorderly place, the entropy goes
up, the information content goes down.
4. The law of causality. Every material effect
must have an adequate antecedent or simultaneous cause.
In these next few articles I will try to explain
these laws and how they disagree with the big bang theory and evolution.
