Billy Lee Bailey, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at his residence. He was a native of Belgreen, AL, retired from Tims Ford Lake, and a member of Gandy Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Grace Reid Bailey; his wife, Valentia J. Cothren Bailey; and one son, Kenneth E. Bailey.
He is survived by one son, Jesse Bailey of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Jessica Bailey of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Tommy Bailey of Lawrenceburg, TN, and James Bailey of Cornville, AZ; six grandchildren, Brandy Bailey, Peyton James Ferguson, Clayton Bailey, Kenneth Edwin Bailey, Jr., Jace Canatella, and Nettie-Mae "Becca" Bailey; one step-grandchild, Andrew J. Ricco; and two sisters-in-law, Fran Rosson and Ann Davis.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2023, with Larry Murdock officiating. Interment will follow at Bumpas Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. Note From Kyle: I remember brother Bailey attending many of the singings in the Middle TN area several years ago. (Back then, as I recall, he introduced himself as "Bill" Bailey. More recently he was better known as "Billy".) We had recently been reacquainted with him and his family through our association with brother Tankersly's Southern TN group.
