Recently a full page ad was placed in a local paper chiding young people for using the term "gay" to mean dumb and stupid. Words do have meaning and the meaning of words, as well as their connotation, change. The earlier meaning was to be "carefree" or "bright and showy." Girls were often named Gay. It had no homosexual connotation. The homosexual community then perverted "gay" to refer to their carefree life style. They now seem to be upset when our young people rightly define gay as dumb and stupid. Hurray for them!
The fact that Bible believing Christians are offended and sickened by homosexuals openly flaunting their sexual deviations are given no consideration. As one local citizen opined, "They should have stayed in the closet and locked the door."
However, in the final analysis it is not how man thinks or even feels. As Paul pointed out, "the foolishness of God is wiser than men" (1 Corinthians 1:23-25). Let us then, listen to the wisdom of God in His word.
