Hating the Haters

Advocates of the current fad of same-sex marriage contend that those that disagree with their aberration are guilty of hating them. Hate is defined as to "feel intense dislike for or a strong aversion towards." Those that accept God's position on the relationship between men and women are not only "sexist," but they are woman haters. God's position is, "the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God" (1 Corinthians 11:3). Those that accept the Bible's position on homosexualism (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) are called "homophobes," and haters of homosexuals.

In other words, anyone who accepts God's standards of morality is a "hater." The avant garde of the militant movement for social change and the creators of "political correctness" have been terribly successful in undermining the mores of Western Civilization. They have an "intense dislike" and "strong aversion towards" the Bible as God's revelation to mankind and Christianity in general. The logic of the situation is simply this -- those that despise traditional Americans and call them "haters" are themselves the actual "haters!" They are guilty of "hating the haters." Is this not hypocrisy personified?

On the other hand, Christians are taught to "love their enemies" and "pray for them that despitefully use them" (Matthew 5:44). Although Christians are taught not the hate people BUT rather to hate the sin. Jesus commented concerning the church at Ephesus, "But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate" (Revelation 2:6). Does the Radical Left hate traditional Americans because they are "straight?" The truth is they hate those they refer to as "haters."

Consider the NEW Phariseeism. Today, most accept the dictionary definition of "a self-righteous or hypocritical person," and add "sanctimonious." Jesus often called Pharisees hypocrites (Matthew 16:1-3; 23:13ff). This personifies the Left's "self-righteousness" gone to seed. The classic Liberal was founded on tolerance. As Voltaire is said to express it, "I disagree with that you said, but will fight to death your right to say it." The unalienable right to say what you think is embedded in classical liberalism as well as in the first amendment to our constitution. Political Correctness has destroyed free speech in America. Any mention of what God thinks or says is verboten.

As Jesus expressed it, "woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in" (Matthew 23:13). Bible based American values are being abandoned. Work is considered a "four letter word" rather than something to be embraced and enjoyed. With Jeremiah of old, let us plead, "ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls" (Jeremiah 6:16).
