Vernon Higginson, Elder & Preaching Minister

Vernon and his wife Belinda have served in the Mt. Carmel church since they were married in 1980. Vernon has been an elder in the church for the past 10 years and is currently serving as the preaching minister, while we seek to hire a full-time preacher.
Within the body, Vernon preaches, teaches Bible classes, and shepherds the congregation. Belinda teaches Bible classes, hosts women's ministry events, and leads our food groups family ministry. They also lead a small group in their home.
Vernon recently retired from a 30-year career with the postal service. He is a basketball coach in the local school district, and he also serves as a mentor for students in our community. They have raised three daughters, and they enjoy spending time with their six grandchildren.
