Joe S. Warlick vs T. E. Pinegar (Missionary Baptist)

Dec. 3-8 at Guin, Ala. Three propositions were discussed each affirming alternately. (1) Establishment of the church. (2) Baptism. (3) Apostasy.

Bro. Warlick presented truth in a clear and convincing manner. Guin is a Baptist stronghold and some heard truth for the first time. Baptists there call Pinegar an able debater, but debates best when he has no opponent. His principle forte lies in his ability to boast and misrepresent. He does not care in the least for being exposed. He would rise under the most severe exposure and declare that he was utterly demolishing his opponent. He has a very good delivery and is capable of making quite an amount of fuss, but in argument he is weak. I think the results of this debate are found to be good. The debate was held in the daytime and there was preaching at night by visiting preachers of whom there were several. There was one addition.
