Guy N. Woods vs A. U. Nunnery (Baptist)
July 18, 1946
Parsons, Tennessee

(By W. A. Bradfield)

July 2-5, between Guy N. Woods and A. U. Nunnery at Cedar Hill Baptist Church near Parsons, Tenn.

Was a great success for the truth. 600-1000 people attended - 39 gospel preachers and several Baptist preachers - 75 congregations of the church of Christ represented from 7 states.

It was one of the best debates held in this section. Bro. Woods did a wonderful job in defending the truth and exposing Baptist doctrine. The Baptists really felt the effects of this debate. One man, a Baptist, said the debate helped him to see the truth, was baptized since then. A lady, who also is a Baptist, has said that she is convinced by the debate.

John R. Clark (Baptist debater) was present and advertised his tract,"Clark's Campbellite Killer," at almost every session of the debate. Grover Stevens countered by his tract, "Why I left The Baptist Church." The debat e was conducted on a high plane and will do much good for years to come. This debate was taken by transcription and is to be published by Joyce Hendrix.
