December 11-14, B. L. Douthitt debated Elder Keyght (Baptist) of Crossville, Tennessee.
Baptism and apostasy were the subjects. This was the first religious debate to be held in Crossville. The speakers conducted themselves in a splendid manner and were heard by large audiences. Elder Keyght appeared to be a novice and was not equal to the occasion. He was not familiar with the usual Baptist arguments. Netherland moderated for B. L. Douthitt.
