B. L. Douthitt vs T. T. Martin (Baptist)
February 21, 1935
Ludlow, Kentucky

(By Hugo McCord)

The ability of B. L. Douthitt to maintain a pleasant disposition and a winning smile in the face of heckling from some Baptist was outstanding in the five-night debate at Ludlow, Kentucky. His vivid arguments on baptism and apostasy, coupled with his pressing of the false doctrines, made notable impressions. The pressing was hard, very hard, but clean. He seemed to be saving souls instead of debating.

Mr. Martin did very little dodging and seemed to try to meet the issues. Publicly he condemned the harassing of Bro. Douthitt by the Baptists. As concrete evidence of the good done in this high-toned debate, one man has his name removed from the Baptist Church and a Catholic is convinced of the truth.
