A.B. Barrett vs Jesse Neal (Missionary Baptist)
October 30 - November 2, 1917
Almo, Kentucky

(By. T. B. Thompson)

October 30 - November 2 at Almo, Kentucky.

The usual subjects: Establishment of the church - - Holy Spirit Baptist apostolic. Each session had large eager crowds. Our brethren noticeable in large numbers. Bro. Barrett did his work well, even when attending to low insinuations of Neal, as well as when answering his arguments. The difference in appearance, deportment, ability and self-possession were at all times so evident that it could be marked by the most casual observer. "We heartily believe the debate will do good, and that the Baptists in this part of the country will not want to repeat it soon. Bro. Barrett enjoys a good debate and puts himself right into the work. Many of our young preachers were in attendance, whose names it is not necessary to give. May God bless them in catching the spirit of making a firm stand for the truth of God."
