Carroll County, Tennessee

In meeting at McAdam's Store, in Carroll County, Tennessee.

The Methodist and Missionary Baptist held opposition meeting. The Kirkland Baptists or what is known as "Can Keep it" Baptists challenged me for a debate. I gave them these two propositions: (1) The Bible teaches that baptism to a penitent believer is one of the conditions of pardon of past or alien sins. (Baptist deny). (2) The Bible teaches that all for whom Christ died will be finally saved in heaven. (I deny).

I was told by the man making the challenge that he aimed to get C. H. Cayce of Martin, Tennessee to meet me. I have serious doubts about this. I have been booked for a debate with Cayce on the same propositions, to be held near Flatwoods, Tennesse and I have failed for months to get Cayce to state the time. I hope to have the pleasure of meeting him again. Four years ago I met him at Sedalia, Kentucky it no task at all. When I get Mr. Cayce to agree to anything that looks like a debate, I will let the readers of the G.A. know.
