I. B. Bradley vs R. L. Jackson (Adventist)
November 26, 1925
Carroll County, Mississippi

(By A. H. Smith)

Held at Old Union Church house in Carroll County, Mississippi, October 26-29. Two subjects debated: State of the dead; Punishment of the wicked.

While Elder Jackson is a pleasant gentleman, a fluent speaker, and an artful dodger, it was plainly evident that he was no match for Bro. Bradley in point of scholarship and Biblical knowledge. On the meaning of the words "destruction," "everlasting," "forever," and "eternal" when applied to the punishment of the wicked after the resurrection, Elder Jackson stood in opposition to the scholarship of the world. He admitted he was not a scholar, but denied what the scholars said. He seemed to know little about rules governing debate.

The following preachers came: J. Roy Vaughn, W. M. Gammill, H. D. Jeffcoat. We were delighted with Bro. Bradley's defense of the truth.
