Four days. Conducted on high plane. Smith, an old debater, did well for a Baptist. Tried hard to sustain Baptist doctrine but failed. I do not think I ever heard stronger arguments made in defense of the truth. Bro. Calley preached on the night after close of day debate. Three made the confession. One was niece of Baptist preacher who came every session. At close of service we went "the same hour of the night" and they were baptized. Several Baptist preachers went to the water with us. This debate gave visible results. Bro. Calley stayed and held meeting. Bro. Calley is a good preacher and strong debater.
