A. O. Calley vs C. H. Cayce
July 14, 1910
Rutherford, Tennessee

(By A. O. Calley)

Four days at Rutherford, Tennessee. June 28 - July 1.

Having met Mr. Cayce twice before, he was very easy to keep under perfect control this time. I have found him to be a very hard man to get propositions signed with; but I now have six propositions signed with him, all of which I believe to be reasonably fair.

He stated on the first morning of this debate that he would meet me again at "Old Bethel," near Dukedom, Tennessee, where we had our first debate - announced it himself. To this I agreed, and announced that I would be ready by Christmas. He seemed to have enough, and could not be induced to say as to whether or not he would make his word good by meeting me then. I believe much good will come from debating Mr. Cayce. He is reasonably strong and unlike some debaters in sectarian ranks he makes arguments clear and plain. People understand him. I would like to meet him at least once a year as long as we can find a place that teaches old Baptist doctrine.
