November 16 - General church proposition. Pittie an aged man of scholarly manners and much experience as debater. He made a brave struggle to establish his proposition and succeed in the opinion of his brethren. All of his brethren not satisfied. He failed to show Baptist Church is scriptural in doctrine and practice. To those of us who know Baptist doctrine agreed that he failed.
On Thursday night, Bro. Cameron affirmed on behalf of Church of Christ, and in a manner most effective to the writer, set forth the doctrine found in New Testament Church and most ably defended it. He had inexhaustible supply of Bible quotations. Pettie agreed they were correctly quoted. Cameron's honesty, plain manner of speaking impressed the crowd. He is a loyal, forceful speaker. Young, but has great storehouse of knowledge.
