An eight-day debate closed October 30.
It was a successful defense of the gospel in the estimation of careful thinkers and seekers after the unadulterated truth. Bro. Chism seemed to gather strength throughout the grueling eight days.
He handled each subject gracefully, despite the fact that L. S. Ballard was thoroughly on the job. In my opinion, Ballard is one of the strongest debaters the Baptists have. Those knowing the deer fighting warrior of old need not fear to call upon Bro. Chism on account of any reports of recent illness.
