Roy Cogdill vs Kirtley (Digressive)
July 18, 1935
Carnegie, Oklahoma

(By M. C. Cuthbertson, Dallas, Texas)

(First Debate). Four nights at Carnegie, Oklahoma last week of June.

Mr. Kirtley affirmed the scriptures teach the use of mechanical instrument of music in the worship. At first he insisted that the instrument was demanded, but under pressure he later said that one could obey God as well without it as he could with it. Not a hard word was spoken during the discussion. Although it was his first debate, Bro. Cogdill spoke like a veteran. Two were baptized during the debate. Bro. Cogdill is able to take care of the truth at any time and against any one.
