A. G. Freed vs Ben Bogard (Baptist)
January 19, 1928
Little Rock, Arkansas

(By Glenn E. Green)

January 6-9 at Little Rock, Arkansas.

This debate grew out of Freed - Bogard debate last winter in Nashville, Tennessee. Elder Bogard agreed to duplicate it in Little Rock in his own church house, the Antioch Baptist Church. The crowds grew until the debate was moved to the Fourth and State Streets meetinghouse of the Church of Christ which was larger. The crowds overflowed our place, but we got the truth before the biggest assembly in the Church of Christ.

Bro. Freed proved himself a master of debate, a great champion of the truth, and endeared himself to this congregation. We feel that the debate was the finest thing that has ever happened in this city in the interest of New Testament Christianity.

Bro. Freed pressed Bogard on Mark 16:9-20. Bogard went on record in the Warlick-Bogard debate, about 15 years ago, that this part of Mark was spurious. Freed forcibly brought him out before the audience. He produced Bogard's book called "The Baptist Way Book" in which Board quotes Mark 16:15 and has it in quotation marks, to prove the Apostles were Missionary Baptists. Bro. Freed made the audience see that Bogard impeached himself.
