N. B. Hardeman vs H. B. Taylor (Baptist)
September 5, 1912
Milburn, Kentucky

(By J. L. Holland)

Debate began 9th of July for 4 days at Shiloh Baptist Church near Milburn, Ky.

Brother Hardeman affirmed: Baptism for remission of sins and possibility of apostasy. Taylor affirmed: Establishment of the church during ministry of Christ and immediate operation of the Holy Spirit in conviction and conversion.

The weather was hot, the farmers badly behind with their crops on account of late wet season, but still the audiences were good and behavior the best. Mr. Tuee of Paducah, Ky. Moderated for Taylor; and I (J. L. Holland) moderated for N. B. H. All we had to do was keep time and make announcements. There were 27 Baptist preachers present and still they suffered defeat. Many of their members confessed their defeat at Milburn, Ky. The next day after debate closed. There were only seven of our preaching brethren present, and we were there to learn, for we realized that our "champion" was enough to put the whole army of Baptist to flight.

During last year several members of the Baptist church threw off their unscriptural names and practices and took their stand with us, desiring to be and do just what the Lord says, and I feel sure that in the future many others in this same community will do the same thing, for they could not help but see the difference between Baptist error and the truth. All error was exposed and the truth was vindicated. Brethren, if you want any and all error exposed, send for N. B. Hardeman.
