The debate was fine from the beginning. Speakers were kind and courteous. The little town of Birmingham was stirred. Bro. Hight was too much for Crawford, who said people were saved by faith alone, therefore without repentance or baptism. Mr. Dennington was moderator for Crawford. He corrected his man often and did more than keep his time.
Bro. Hight is debater of long experience and knows every step his opponent takes - this makes two severe blows to Baptist teaching this past winter.
