James K. Hill vs B. W. Earnest (Baptist)
January 1, 1904
Cardova, Alabama

(By Elda J. Pinegar)

Dec. 14-17 at Cardova, Al.

Bro. Hill was more than the equal to his opponent - a plain, forcible, speaker. His affirmative arguments were unanswerable. In the negative he routed Mr. Earnest and made him take 4 different positions. Bro. Hill did not open the Bible during the debate as he was familiar with his opponents' arguments. The brethren were well pleased. The Baptists felt their defeat very much. After having agreed to furnish the house (for accommodations), they locked us out the second day, but the Methodists tendered us the use of their house. E. A. Pinegar moderated for bro. Hill.
