He did not try to repudiate Howell's arguments. He finally admitted the church was not a perfected body until the Spirit was given on Pentecost.
The 2nd and 4th propositions were discussed together according to Keif's suggestion: "Is an alien sinner saved before and without baptism?" "Are repentance and faith the only conditions of pardon to an alien?" Keif failed to carry a single point. He boasted of 8 defeats with our brethren. But we cannot see how our Baptist friends can endorse as weak a man as Kief.
At the close of the 3rd day Keif said, "I'm going away here this evening if I can get to the train." Bro. Howell overheard him and said, "Mr. Keif, if you cannot sustain your doctrine, you must sign a declaration certifying to the same, and then you may go; otherwise we will discuss the 3rd proposition tomorrow.?" Keif then said certainly he would stay. But the next news, Keif was getting away just as rapidly as possible. The 3rd proposition was, is it possible for a child of God, one who has been born of God, to fall away and be lost?" Keif had already virtually admitted this proposition time and time again in his previous talks.
