Large crowds and ideal weather. With the exception of a few slang phrases and a few personal thrusts, it was clean. The Baptists were well pleased with Dennington's defense of their doctrine. This was his first debate, but he did as well as any other Baptist. He had studied the subjects thoroughly.
Bro. Howell did splendid work in defending the truth. Such debates do good. When the truth is assailed, lukewarm members will love truth more and can weigh evidence on both sides. A good, clean discussion of differences is relished by all parties.
