Debate between bro. L. E. Jones and E. Z. Newson. Four propositions debated. This was bro. Jones first debate. Newson claims to have had several discussions.
Bro. Jones made some strong points. Newson speaks rapidly and boasts of the number of texts that he quotes to sustain his proposition. He is a young man, and I regard him as a very good Baptist debater. He kicks up just about enough dust to give a good preacher an excellent opportunity to expose error and develop truth. I preached one night while there. In attendance at the daily debate were 1 Methodist, 5 Baptists, and 4 Christian preachers. I moderated for bro. Jones.
