W. E. Jones vs J. H. Burnett (Missionary Baptist)
November 25, 1909
Campbell, Oklahoma

(By C. H. Collier)

Held at Campbell, Ok. Oct. 20-25 - six nights.

Burnett was pleasant in the debate. Jones had powerful arguments on establishment of church and depravity. Brethren expressed their appreciation for a great victory. The Baptists admitted defeat, but consoled themselves that the fault was not in Baptist doctrine. We have many good brethren around Campbell, Ok. and a host of friends not Christian. This debate was an eye-opener for many of them. I, C. H. Collier, moderated for bro. Jones. Bro. James T. Gillispie, gospel preacher, attended debate I take great pleasure in recommending bro. Jones to loyal brethren as a Christian gentleman both in and out of debate.
