Report by O.C. Lambert
August 11, 1949

I was scheduled to meet J. M. Bullard, Primitive Baptist, here in Tupelo, Miss., last July 5-8. Just before the debate he wrote me that he was too busy. I turned the letter over to the Baptists who had arranged the debate, an they took the matter up with their Association. He has written me since and suggested another date, Aug. 30 - Sept. 2.

More than two years ago I received propositions from D. N. Jackson for a debate in Mobile, Ala. We agreed to meet in Dec. 1947. A few days before the time Jackson wrote that he had to go to the hospital for an operation. I waited long enough for him to recover and then wrote about the debate. He replied that he was too busy and would have to put it off. I called him over the phone last spring and he said that this church had changed pastors and that the Baptists did not want the debate. I'll meet him in Mobile or anywhere. It was Jackson who declined the debate.
