Bro. J. G. Malphurs engaged Mr. Elbert Winkler in a debate at Fairview, Ky - Feb. 5-6.
Bro. Malphurs did well in the discussion. Winkler could not meet the arguments, so he spent his time appealing to sympathy of the audience and misrepresenting the church of Christ. Ten important questions were given him, but these he deliberately ignored. However, he was a pretty good talker, and probably some were made to think that he was a debater. Bro. tried to get Mr. Winkler to debate longer. He refused. He wants to debate me, but I'm afraid I'll never hear from him. He will not meet bro. Malphurs again. Bro. Malphurs is a loyal Christian, as good as his word.
