Debated at Taliaferro, Ga., Feb. 1-4. With propositions: Establishment of the church, plan of salvation as taught by Baptist, apostasy.
Mr. Greene, 50 year old Baptist, well informed and a charismatic speaker, did all anyone can do for Baptist doctrine. He was pleasant throughout the debate. Bro. Oldfield is 30 years old and very intelligent. He is a fine speaker and his thorough knowledge of the Bible enabled him to quote any scripture and not look at his Bible. He had a ready answer to every argument Mr. Green offered. In his last speech Mr. Green said that bro. Oldfield had gotten him so tangled up that he could not finish his speech. A great victory gained for truth.
