W. L. Oliphant vs B. W. Dodson (Methodist)
October 11, 1928
Patrica, Texas

(By W. L. Opiphant)

I have just closed a debate at Patrica, Tx. with B. W. Dodson, Methodist. The debate ran 5 days with two sessions daily. We debated baptism for the remissions of sins, infant baptism, baptism of the Holy Spirit. action of baptism.

The debate was well attended. Many preachers, Methodists and others, were present. My brethren, the Baptists and many Methodists seemed to feel that the truth as I presented it was victorious. We believe much good was accomplished. Mr. Dodson acted the part of a gentleman throughout the discussion, and I think he defended his position as ably as such false positions could be defended. The very best of feeling prevailed. No damage to the peace an d harmony of the community was done.
