Wilcox affirmed "The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit selects, appoints, or makes elders without any action on the part of the congregation." Overturf affirmed "The Bible teaches that we today select, appoint, and set in elders." Overturf did wonderful piece of work in Detroit area. "We are grateful to the eldership of D. L. Congregation for releasing him for this debate."
