Bro. Ramsey was too strong for Finley. Mr. Finley claimed to be a scholar, but this subject was too deep for him.
On baptism bro. Ramsey held that in baptism there must be a burial in water. Mr. Finley said he could prove 3 modes by the Bible and one didn't have any have to have any of the 3 to be saved. He cited Ezek. 36:25 and said that was a commandment for sprinkling. He also used Job 2:12. He argued that as the Bible says "with water," water could be applied in any was one chooses, that is to say, by sprinkling, pouring or immersion. He cited Acts 2:41 and said that 3000 could not have been baptized in one day.
In two thirds his time Mr. Finley's was condemning himself. All of his points were extremely weak. Bro. Ramsey clearly exposed every quibble.
