Calvin Gregory, Miss. Bap. preacher and debater from Lafayette, Tenn., has been vilifying the church of Christ over the radio. The brethren at Bowling Green, Ky. wrote to him Nov.10, 1951 for a debate. He answered on Nov.12 with a rather contemptible letter saying, "I will meet your man if God but gives me the strength." Enclosed in his letter were propositions signed. They sent the propositions to me, I signed them without an change whatever and they were returned to Mr. Gregory. From that time we have never had one word from him, although we have written him several times. Maybe God did not give him the strength - or should we say, courage. At any rate, Mr. Gregory prefers to keep silent about the debate. If any preacher anywhere is to meet Gregory and wants a copy of this correspondence, I will be glad to send it to him.
